The story goes as follows: William who was a Dreyman (Drove a freight delivery wagon in Kansas
City) as offered a hired farm hand job by his future father in-law, who was in K.C. to buy cattle.
William and Julia lived in the N.E. part of Carroll County, I.A. and had three children. For some
unknown reason William left the family and supposedly returned to K.C., never to be heard from
again.
William and Julia's children were as follows:
1. Mary Jane, b. 17 Jul 1870, Carroll City IA, d 6 Apr 1905 Prairie City, Ill. at a cousin's on her
mother's side. m. Charles Fruit
*2. ZACHARIAH TAYLOR b. 24 Nov. 1872, d. 3 Oct. 1941 m. Evelyn Grace Challand who he
met while visiting his sister and brother-in-law near Dekalb, Ill.
3. Lydia ? b 1883, d. 1 Nov. 1959 at Hagler Neb. at her daughter's m Oliver Mahon at Holt City
Neb.
Note: Sometime during Williams residence in IA, his brother Cyreno came to live near them
(1869/1870?). Cyreno married twice, first wife unknown, second was Sarah Gill. Cyreno is
buried at a country cemetery (Cottonwood) SE of Lake City IA.
